My name is Amy and I am so glad you are here. I am a wife, mom, writer, and mentor. I write about special needs, adoption, and the spiritual life. I write honestly about our adoption story, and about parenting a child with Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).

I know our stories are important. I believe that when we honestly share our stories we learn from each other, we gather strength, and we come away encouraged. But most importantly, we feel less alone. As a special needs mom, I have often felt isolated and overwhelmed as I have tried care for my children and live my life.

I hope that my words will help you to feel encouraged and less alone. I want to create a space where you can be heard. I want to help you find peace and hope in the midst of your busy and challenging life. I am married to my best friend and high school sweetheart. I am the mother of six kids, who are all in different phases of life—from adults to middle schoolers. I love quiet mornings, hot tea, and a good book. I also love great food and conversation around a table with the people I love. Thank you for visiting. Please reach out below! I'd love to hear your story.
