Take Heart is a podcast for special needs moms by special needs moms. It is a place for special needs moms to find authentic connection, fervent hope, and inspiring stories.
Sara, Carrie, and I have a combined experience of over thirty years of parenting children with special needs. Each of our paths are extremely unique and we are continually learning, making mistakes, but also making amazing memories along the way.
Each month, we will explore and discuss a theme that impacts caregivers. We will bring our unique perspectives, our hard-earned lessons, and we will share insightful stories, practical tips, and encouraging blessings that will help you flourish in your journey as a special needs mom.
Back in January 2020, I decided to join a writers’ mastermind group through hope*writers. It was by far one of the best decisions I have ever made. I went in with a singular goal of writing a book and quickly found myself first starting a podcast with two other amazing writers who happen to be special needs moms as well.
Let me introduce you to my amazing co-hosts!
Sara Clime is a writer, business owner, wife, and mom. She has two sons, one with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He’s a teen and wasn’t diagnosed until he was eight years old. Sara encourages special needs moms and helps them to embrace their special children.
Carrie M. Holt is a writer, speaker, wife, and mom of four. Carrie’s 3rd child was diagnosed prenatally with Spina Bifida (specifically myelomeningocele- he was born with an open hole in his back), Hydrocephalus, and Chiari II Malformation of the brain. Carrie beautifully shares her journey and is passionate about helping others who don’t always fit into that diagnosis box.
